“I booked the 8:30 a.m. departure after having breakfast at 7 a.m. at Grey Hostel. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the hostel to the tour meeting point, following the signs. We reached the glacier by motorboat, and we were provided with crampons and ice axes. The tour was led by two guides. We didn’t go very far onto the glacier, but they showed us a river right on the ice where we could collect drinking water. We returned around 12:00–12:30 p.m., which left enough time to have lunch at the hostel and still plenty of time to walk to Paine Grande Hostel.”
